Yes, indeed you do. I was, however, letting it roll because it was refreshing to see these bright folks discussing something a little unusual (and we have had some slow news days lately). :o)

In short, off-topic thread bloat looms.

Neither of us ever assumed otherwise. As I understand the rules of the thread, however, brief little offtopic wanderings like these are not only permitted but encouraged. They loosen up things a bit, they give impressions of regular posters that would not otherwise have appeared, and they make it more fun to post.

And if someone doesn't like them, there is, after all a very clear choice: just skip them. Move on to the next post.
