NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--7-Eleven Inc. (SE) will distribute fresh food daily to its southern California stores, said Chuck Kronyak, the company's merchandising manager.

"Fresh food products are really on a growth trend," he said in a CNBC interview Wednesday.

Kronyak expects fresh food sales to grow to at least 25% to 30% of 7-Eleven's total sales.

The California stores will feature sushi, fresh sandwiches and salads.

For 2001, 7-Eleven had total revenue of $9.9 billion.
