Len. The original question I had was...." What gives any person the right to ownership of land like the situation in the ME or anywhere for that matter ? "....

Are we still talking about ownership of land?

You said..." By saying allow, I mean that the powers that be, who have the power to dominate and impose upon the less powerful, should understand that all people have the desire to control their own destinies.".....

I agree. And what you are suggesting sounds much like a democracy like USA or Canada where each person has a vote, can worship as they please and can own their own home and all the usual freedoms.

So do you think that dictatorships should not be allowed to exist? People who live under dictatorship really do not control their own destinies. Dictators are the powers that be.

Should then an invasion force taking over another country for whatever reason allow the conquered people to live as they please? Have their own government within a larger government and keep whatever land they were living on?
