Skin,
How do we solve this black/white//shades of grey issue? My solution is charcoal grey and off white. Once you get into the myriad shades of grey you lose all moral backing for your position as everything becomes relative. I am hedging here. What upset me yesterday is the way i corresponded with zonder--who i know view as a wolf in sheeps clothing. In the end it is my love of country and belief in God that will get me thru this. My only worry about Bush is whether the born again stuff makes him to rigid to strike an appropriate and enforceable deal when offered.
I have said this often. To avoid war, i would strike a deal with saddam that would eliminate his WMD, end sanctions and open the oil spigots to the detriment of our saudi friends. Then what would zonder say that the US for cynical reasons had abandoned the poor people of Iraq. And if the US were to liberate iraq for purely humanitarian reason they would be babbling about american imperialism and sovereign rights. mike
