Sunday Deadline For Tickets For Nittany Lions' Visit to Capital One Bowl
10,000 Tickets Sold
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., December 7, 2002 -- Fans interested in following Penn State to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. must purchase their tickets by 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.
Bud Meredith, Director of Ticket Operations, said that approximately 10,000 of Penn State's allotment of 12,000 tickets have been allocated for the January 1 contest against a Southeastern Conference opponent. The game will kickoff at 1:00 p.m. in the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium (70,000).

Penn State's opponent will be announced Sunday afternoon, with Arkansas, Auburn and Georgia the possible foes.

Penn State (9-3) will making its first appearance in the Orlando bowl game since January 1, 1998 and its fourth overall.

The Nittany Lions won their last four games and are ranked No. 10 in the Associated Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches polls. Penn State has won six of is last seven bowl games.

Ticket orders will be accepted at the athletic ticket office on Sunday from 1:00-8:00 p.m. All tickets are $70, which includes a $5.00 processing fee. There is a limit of four tickets per account. The numbers to call for tickets are: 1-800-863-3336 or 814-865-5555.

Ticket allocation will not be made until all orders have been received and will be based on Nittany Lion Club priority point totals.
