Seems to me businesses are moving from all flavors of Unix to Linux because of the savings in hardware costs and software costs. Since so many of these businesses have existing software that needs to be adapted to Linux they need considerable support to make the transition. IBM along with a few other companies is coming in to fill that void. From what I've heard, that business is turning out to be better than even IBM expected it to be. I was just wondering if it's a big enough chunk to make a difference or even if it's possible to separate it out from their other services revenue (it may not be). I don't follow IBM closely just simply because it's not my kind of play, but when something shows that kind of price action when all the news is superficially bad I have to wonder if someone else knows more than I do.
