Kerry is a very smart guy. He's been effective in his role as junior senator from Mass. He's knowledgeable about global issues, solid background in economics, intelligence and setting policy.

When engaging the public, he comes across in two ways. He has the "lecturing side" to him which puts people off...he has a strong intellect and that puts people off when he goes into "Senate Speak". The other side of him, for example, when he speaks about his fellow river rats when he was on the Mekong River is earthy, compassionate, funny....very engaging and very real.

He has some liberal beliefs around healthcare policy, and he also believes that government can and should do things for people who have hit a bad patch...more like a Jack Kennedy moderate but is strong on defense.

I like him and would vote for him. He has money, his own and his wife's (Heinz heiress) so he can afford to play.

Two questions....does he really want to play and is he electable? We'll find out....I hope he runs...he would be a solid candidate and if elected, would hire smart people.

He is an honorable man.
