Ya, that's sure the conventional wisdom. I saw an interesting article challenging it, though. Actually a couple of them recently, a book by Diane Francis and a study by a former DM or some such, sponsored by the Fraser Institute IIRC. Both basically saying that it matters more what type of immigrant you get, and that the current mix of "useless mouths" (e.g. elderly parents, refugees) vs. productive workers isn't sustainable. Nice to at least see the discussion taking place for a change.
