NEW YORK, Dec 5 (Reuters) - Market players are positioning for Friday's U.S. employment data to reveal a bigger jump in payrolls than consensus forecasts by economists, meaning a stronger number may not necessarily help stocks or hurt bonds.

Economic derivatives, a new form of hedging economic data, are showing markets are prepared for a 70,000 rise in payrolls, nearly double the 38,000 gain expected on average in a Reuters poll of economists.
