Kramer, like Pipes, is one of those human beings who appears only to exist to be angry at some group of others. If it's not this group, it's another. Both write only attack pieces.

Said is certainly one of the great intellectuals of our time. Without flaws? Certainly not. Makes mistakes. Certainly. Do I disagree with some of the things he argues? Of course.

But I don't view intellectual activity as choosing sides. I must take all of Said and none of the folk he disagrees with. Of course not. But that seems to be Kramer's problem. Life is only dualities. Enemies and friends.

As for the snide little asides, I assume that gives you pleasure. I certainly wouldn't wish to get in the way of that.
