I agree with you that routine TV fare is trash.... But the evolution has also included bimbos with big hair and 2 pounds of makeup constantly bombarding us with religious prosyletizing.... I do think that news coverage is better than ever (when they are allowed access), financial coverage is outstanding, and sports coverage has had a quantum leap in quality and technology..... The number of channels has increased by about 2 orders of magnitude and one can find academic, scientific, medical, music, and history channels... Picture quality has never been better.
