OK, no hard feelings :)

I certainly would pour the wine. I dont know about the chair--womens lib and all that.

Maybe in the US. We still appreciate such niceties from men rather than taking out their eyes for holding our chairs :)

I am concerned that these arguments lead nowhere. We have our positions.

I beg to differ. "Positions" are not cast in stone. Understanding where the other is coming from is essential to "Peace", which most Americans mistakenly believe will come from crushing the opponent.

The whole purpose of my life was to pass on a better life and world to my children and grandchildren. I have failed at that.

I cannot see how it is your own fault.

Now all i can do is to try to make it safer by first killing the bad guys and second attacking the problems that spawn them. #1 comes before #2 and thats probably where we differ most profoundly

What you are describing is "symptomatic treatment", which, as any medical professional will tell you, is not only ineffective but also extremely dangerous, for it allows the disease to spread while giving you the illusion that you are getting better.
