Zonder--differerent time and circumstance. You are right however. But keep in mind that Germans and Japanese attacked civilian targets all thru the war. And the allied firebombings of dresden and Tokyo conventionally had even higher casualties. Intellectually only the scientist knew the distinction between atomic and conventional weapons at that time. And the belief at the time, which most folks still buy into was that it save more lives, both american and japanese than were lost. mike
