Hm. I think you rushed in your reply because I feel a disconnect between what I have said and what you have replied.

I say: "Positions" are not cast in stone. Understanding where the other is coming from is essential to "Peace", which most Americans mistakenly believe will come from crushing the opponent."

You reply: "CASE HOW SHOULD A WAR BE FOUGHT. PLEASE ANSWER USING SERBIA AS AN EXAMPLE. HOW SHOULD WE HAVE FOUGHT THAT WAR FOR YOU EUROPEANS SO YOU WOULD APPROVE. IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY WE FIGHT YOU SHOULD DEFEND YOURSELVES, NO."

Let me first reiterate my point that understanding your opponents is extremely important in defeating them.

Now as to how a war should be fought (although I do not know how we came to this subject), I believe it should be fought with dignity, and in accordance to international laws.

PLEASE ANSWER USING SERBIA AS AN EXAMPLE.

I am not sure if that is a good example. That was a civil war, with ethnic populations of former Yugoslavia trying to kill eachother off as efficiently as possible. What the US did at the time was not war, but humanitarian intervention.

I was happy that the US came in, for your information.

Why did Europe not step in and stop the genocide? If I were so inclined, I could argue that they were OK with Christians cleansing the Muslims in the midst of Europe. I must admit that I do not know.

By the way, please note that the US did not move a finger for two years either, and then the timing of the action curiously coincides with Clinton's final disgrace re the Monica affair. I felt it was a good move the change the headlines.

I am still happy they intervened, though.

IF YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY WE FIGHT YOU SHOULD DEFEND YOURSELVES

I don't know where this comment came from. Where is the threat and how are Europeans not defending themselves?

LOOK AT RUANDA AND TELL ME WHO IS WORSE THAN THE FRENCH IN THIS REGARD.

Definitely the French made some grave mistakes. However, I do remember the French accepting this and formally apologizing.

RID THE WORLD OF BIN LADEN AND BUILD UP THE MIDEAST

I am sorry but this is still a symptomatic treatment of a malady you have not begun to analyze. First find the cause. Only then can you find a cure.

Otherwise, there will be many new Bin Ladins to replace the villain you kill.

You seem to think I want America to fail. Quite the contrary - I want America to succeed in its struggle against the prevailing Dark Age mentality in most Muslim countries. My objection is that you are wrong in the method you are proposing - that will only aggravate the problem.

I am sort of like the NASA guy in Armageddon, trying to stop the US Army from detonating a surface nuke on the asteroid, saying it will not work and waste a precious opportunity to destroy the asteroid, if you will. You need to drill and explode it in its midst...
