Ted, tread lightly whenever you bring up issues about Korea in front of me. ;-)

<I see so much negative reaction to American policies and decisions, particularly when that negativity is coming from current allies. In two short years, the world has turned against us.>

That's misleading. Regarding Korea, the anti-U.S. protests in front of the U.S. embassy are actually pretty common and have been for the past two decades. The unfortunate death of the two Korean girls only added highly potent fuel to the fire.

I'd wager that most Koreans still have a favorable attitude toward America. Either that, or they'd actually be calling for the expulsion of the 37,000 U.S. troops stationed there. As you can tell, all they are asking for is more jurisdiction in crimes committed by American soldiers on Korean soil.

I believe that Korea's love-hate relationship toward America is a microcosm of what the rest of the free world thinks about America. Of course, you listen to Daschle, McAuliffe, and Clinton, and they'll spin it rather negatively for political purposes. They don't give a rat's ass over how America does in the world arena, because all they care about it getting back in power.
