You can see on the daily NDX here that full stoch actually gave a couple big falsies on the centerline xover, vs RSI, which whips as you say, but remains fully below the centerline, and gives fewer false centerline breaks. Both are just as useful.....

personally I prefer Blau's Candlestick Oscillator (top panel) which gave NO false signals, but which gives the same centerline crossovers as stoch and RSI.
