>>How was Taken?<<

I've been enjoying it, but it's not the best thing Spielberg ever did. (That would be Band of Brothers.)

It's a 20 hour mini-series, two hours a night Monday-Friday for two weeks. First week is over. All five episodes will be rerun this weekend, so you could catch up, or even start in the middle next week and I think it would still be comprehensible. Sci-fi channel for those with cable.

I think it suffers from something a New Orleans movie critic used to call longueurs.

Spielberg's sci-fi has a tendency to space (no pun intended) action with slice-of-life, and he's a little bit in love with his point of view when it comes to slice-of-life, especially when the action was set in the past.

You know you're in the 50's because you see all these great cars, all of which are in cherry condition.

You know you're in the early 60's because women wear pillbox hats and cats-eye glasses.

You know you're in the late 60's because there are hippies.

And not much happens for a long time, punctuated by extremely intense violence.

Nevertheless, there is no such thing as bad Spielberg.
