I do believe in the PPT, but I suspect that my view is a little different. I am convinced that the PPT was active wherever you see a big gap up. That means that they were buying like mad dogs. But if you assume that the main buyers of the PPT are your large institutional financial houses, you also have to assume that they are profit motivated. They aren't going to buy for the sake of buying, they are going to buy so that they can sell at a higher price. And once they sell, they aren't really going to want to buy it back for a couple of points lower, they want to get bargain basement prices....like what we had in October.

It is because I believe that the PPT was active in October/November that I also believe that they are done for a while. They *want* prices to go down now.

well IMHO they were pretty damn active starting October and most of november. took a break until Friday am then re emerged right when we were about to have a huge loss on the day and week.

im sure they will be around, buy not as much nor as effective as before. i noted yesterday to myself that in each successive attempt to boost or hold things up they were less effeective. there are real sellers emerging for first time in a while. PPt had it easy in november as they had alreay toasted the shorts and they were hesitant to take new positions. the rise thru tday was accomplished. i see markets trying to move back up, but do not think they even make it to tie the recent highs, before some wicked ass hide the woman and children starts up to take us down hard. im sure there must be limitations to ppts funds and willigness to continue throwing good money after bad. at some point they will just let it go and try again from lower levels at the edge of some precipice. that is much lower than where we are now.
