Darren - With all due respect, you are wrong. I do not know if you have ever been to the Middle East or if you know any Muslim families, but as a person who can say "Yes" to both, I assure you there is a vast community of moderate Islam out there. You do not hear about these as much because (1) They don't scream and should like the religious nutcases (2) This is "wartime" and controversial stories about the extremists sell much better in the papers. You say: "All of islam is extremist" And I say just one counterexample suffices to prove a theory incorrect, and I give you the significant community of moderate Muslims in Turkey. Go to Istanbul and take a look around. Mini-skirts, alcohol, dance clubs where women dance with men no different than they do in New York or London. Penthouse & Playboy magazines, erotic films on cable TV. Women in bikinis splashing on the beach in the south. Granted that the Muslim nutcases present a target-rich environment for Westerners who judge at a distance, I urge you to consider that you do not really know that "All of islam is extremist. The only difference between a militant and a moderate is the length of their beards."
