I'll leave y'all to debate which document is more important, but 'taxation without representation' is a reality in the US in 2002. Not much has changed in that regard, since 1776.

Sure, because I know how easy it is to abuse power, even within the confines of the Constitution.

I shudder to think how much easier it is to abuse power within the context of, say, an absolute monarchy.

Ask the Germans how easy it is for a democratically elected leader to abolish democracy without a strong constitution with a good system of checks and balances.
