I too must raise my hand and say I have been guilty of helping manufacture silicon chips by the zillion. I wonder how many are made each year? More then enough to supply each human being on this planet with a dozen or so is my "off hand" guesstimate. So this technology boom is subsiding. It's not all bad though. How many people were happy doing such things as adding up the days business by hand using paper and a pencil. Maybe doing it twice to be sure of the figures. Silicon chips are used for good as well as more questionable activity. We have some problems showing in the future. Lack of fish in the sea and arable land to farm. i.e. food supply. Fresh water supply. Pollution. Environmental "regeneration" i.e turning "eye sores" into something more like what god intended. The human population is still expanding so space will continue to demand a premium. I think there are plenty more "boom times" in some of these areas. There will be plenty of demand for sure. These good things can only happen if there is a free, honest and hardworking society though. This demands government and businesses of high ethical standards. Some times there has to be bad times while these conditions are established. That's my tuppence ha'penny worth for today -g-
