Not a good or accurate comparison. An unborn baby is capable of reproduction when it becomes an adult and despite what some might think is not a parasite. A parasite is a different life form that attacks a host.

Well. If you must be ignorant you should try to be so by accident so that the rest of us might at least pity you. The fallacy of your (ahem) "opinion" here is most obvious. The fetus does not depend upon a living cell to replicate, contrary to your claim. Indeed fetuses do not replicate at all, the cells that comprise the fetus replicate. This is quite unlike viral replication, which instead occurs merely by a virus hijacking replicating living cells.

I use the word "machinery" as a simple way to quickly refer to what you should have learned about cell biology in the sixth grade or so. Viruses do not possess this "machinery." They must commandeer it from truly living cells that do possess it. For that reason, most researchers do not consider viruses to be genuine life.

Ish efficiently explained the thing to you.
