Jon- You may want to start looking at the big picture, the whole market has had huge short interest, a big part of this rally has been short covering. A good question to ask is, how much of this rally is actual buying, and how much is just shorts going to neutral and taking profits.

Q has performed similarly or better than everything else in tech during this rally:

Shorts short because they think whatever they are shorting is going to go down, before its goes up. They don't hate stocks. They don't take out there aggressions by selling or buying. In fact, I'd bet the shorts are the least emotional of all investors. Short interest reports come out roughly 8 days after the 15th of each month.

If you are a very confident bull on a stock, then you should love shorts, because they will eventually be forced to buy back a rising stock and push the price higher.

One final note, the markets don't revolve around QCOM, QCOM revolves around the markets.
