During the buildup to the Gulf War, I was working late at my office every night, and spent those nights listening to the radio shows -- Larry King, etc. Every night they had this parade of panicky liberals talking about Iraq's military (at the time, claimed to be the 4th most powerful after the United States). We were going to thousands of "body bags" coming home as Saddam's "Elite" Republican Guard kicked out butts. "This is no Grenada".

I suspect most thinking people at the time took these forecasts witha grain of salt; I know I did (it was, after all, coming from the liberal media) -- however, there was a seed of doubt planted. MAYBE, just MAYBE, our military is NOT as strong as I think it is.

Here we go again. Daily, we're hearing more about body bags. The conservative generals are, as expected, cautiously optimistic. But the nitwits, who don't have a clue (and who comprise about 95% of what you see in the media) seem to be ignoring the fact that we begin the next war with total air superiority. They forget that we can put precision guided munitions down any chimney in Iraq.
