comment on Cocchetti and deflation (could not open PDF well)

ignore the deflation?
Roach reports 65% of economic sectors suffering from deflation right now
ignore that? no way, not unless ignore reality

the most dangerous deflation we had in 2001 was with telecom, bringing default, lower prices, disappeared profits, lost jobs

now the most dangerous deflation we have in 2003 will be THE AUTOMOBILE SECTOR, with all its supporting niches from finance to parts, but sparing repair & maintenance
(get it? sparing?)

I cannot say what his main points were
but I can anticipate he minimized the deflation threat
coming from academia, he probably stands on monetary stimulus clearing all obstacles
ALL EXCEPT DEBT ON BALANCE SHEETS (unless bankruptcies)
not a chance, it is big, it is real, it is deadly
