Gun control is not a topic about which I am driven to assimilate minute details. I don't really have very much real information and I don't have the time to dig it up.

But you do make an interesting point. You said the Second Amendment does not grant the right to bear arms. Funny, Judge Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit, in his 70 page opinion, said the very same thing. If you believe that the right of self-defense using the weapon of your choice comes from a higher authority, then I wonder why we need to interpret it to say it does grant that right. And how will the Supremes treat that question?

For that matter, the "natural" rights that were specified in the Declaration of Independence include the right to life, implying the defense of life is a legitimate right, so is it incumbent on government to specify or place any limits whatsoever on the manner by which you may defend life? Or should there be no limits?
