Hi Shootie; That sounds painful. One of my shocks was discovering that antiques are almost always designed to come apart into sections that are convenient for moving. Something about the problem of transportation in a horse driven era.

So I'm going to make a guess and say that armoire is less than 100 years old.

After I made the discovery that antiques are fairly inexpensive if you buy them at auction, I swore I'd never buy a modern behemoth (typically overweight due to flimsy particle board construction) again.
