Unsatisfying propositions from the Scholars :

1/ "No proof of Irak AQ link" (or not proof yet, or no future proof):
The actual lack of public proof is no proof of the opposite.

2/"If SH gets nukes he won't use them because of retaliations" :
What about blackmail to Koweit etc ?

3/"If Bush 41 didn't finish SH off because of instability to ME."
Possible, but the opposite was even more probable.

4/ "Victory on Irak should be easy, but no exit strategy."
Ask Karzai, the Kossovars, etc.(DO Macdos explode in Vietnam?)

5/"America should not, cannot fight well a two fronts' war".
Not that many people are busy with the war on AQ, especially military personnel.( Kissinger used to say 2.5 wars, simultaneously.)

So, IMO, the only valid statement is that the toll on US and collateral casualties could be high. Very true.(+ economic fallout). But the price could become higher with inaction, however much later; and the actual military buildup could be sufficient by itself to finish off the bad guy.

Disclaimer: I am no scholar.
