Godot, re: ATPG -- Since current assets are about = to current liabs, I expect the Helvellyn farmout money to be used to just meet current obligations.

I believe the Legacy lawsuit was a big reason for the stock tanking in late '01. It is not good news, but I have factored it in and believe the company can survive if they lose on the arbitration. It would be a one-time hit for about $15 M, or $.75/share. I believe they would be allowed to pay Legacy over a fairly extended period of time.

Fortunately (for short-term traders) the news on the Helvellyn well should come out before any news on the Legacy arbitration.

CIBC did not even mention the Legacy lawsuit in their November update, which is a clue that they don't consider it to be relevant to their investment opinion on ATP.

For more info on ATP, if you have the time you oughtta listen to their latest hype show presentation, at media.corporate-ir.net

It takes about 25 minutes.

Also attending that show were two others that I like a lot, Callon Petroleum (CPE) and (to a lesser extent) Energy Partners (EPL).

ATPG -- Looks like the stock has now formed a solid base at the $4 mark. All the weak holders have been shaken outta the stock so as soon as some good news comes out on the company the stock should really take off.

Speaking of good news, I expect the test results on their North Sea well either this week or the first week of next year. Expecting flow rates well in excess of 30 mmcfd -- a monster.

With natgas prices where they are now, I'm calling for $4/share cash flow for these guys for '03 -- not much less than what you can buy the whole company for today. Gotta luv these O&G microcaps!
