Grace I think O'Neill was an asset to this administration. For a to long time we had scam artists and manipulators at the helm of the US Treasury. At least he was a straight shooter and knowledgeable man.

Unfortunate the thieves and swindlers in the financial markets only like to have their own sleek types of swindlers as the head of the US Treasury

There was a real reason why under Rubin / Clinton the stock market got ballistic and now O'Neill must pay for Rubin / Clinton bad deeds, if not outright criminal actions.

The monkeys on WS and the major banks have an hideous mentality and attitude........ if you do not play ball with the thieves and swindlers you ARE DOOMED

Honesty and knowledge do not earn you kudos in Washington political circles or WS ........ honesty and virtue is preached to the working classes to be better exploited.

Inquiring minds wish to know.

<<Dude, O'Neal's days have been numbered for some time. Bush kept him just long enough to make it look like he gave him a chance and he hadn't made a big blunder in having chosen him in the first place. His leaving could hardly be seen as a negative.>>
Dudette,
Maybe you knew that, but I didn't, and I'm sure most didn't. To see his resignation( could hardly be seen as a negative,) as being wildly bullish instantly is a very large stretch. And as today showed , it wasn't bullish at all. So there....
