Kyoto science
or
Emissions

Whether the emission of greenhouse gases is directly responsible for global warming or not, and that matter is still seriously debated, the negative effects of emissions are evident, look at any large city to see the immediate impact.
The Kyoto question has raised some very serious issues for certain provinces, Alberta at the forefront, but deciding that Kyoto is a bad idea based on the near term economic impact may not correctly incorporate the true benefits of Kyoto. Even if the earth continues to heat up for another 8,00 years, which is likely, the long term benefits afforded by reduction of these gases will benefit the entire world, global warming or not.
The Kyoto Accord is something that I support.

Now everyone from Alberta can tell me I am wrong. <g>

I'm not entirely sure that Brian wanted Kim to succeed him. Oh, he was absolutely keen to have her in the race, but I think he was [rightly] aghast to see it become a coronation. It would have been far better for the party to have had a real contest, with the young pups like Kimmy and Charest up against the old pros like Maz and Wilson. But the old guard had seen the writing on the wall. The PCs weren't a bad enough government to merit the s*it kicking they took in '93, but there was no way they were going to win under any circumstance.
