The war party is now reduced to shrilly claiming that a failure to fight a war with Iraq would result in the destruction of America's prestige. This is not the standard argument of a group that is sure of getting what it wants, LOL

Neither is it a very strong argument to start a preemptive war, it seems.

"None of the Arab nations are launching spacecraft, for example, or have multi-trillion dollar software companies revolutionizing the world." Actually of late, the space program has been cut way back due to budget cuts, perhaps if we had some of them oil big bucks from taking over Iraqi oil fields we could start launching more. Then, too, the multi-trillion dollar software cos have been reduced to multi-billions and the math whizzes and engineers are more and more frequently being brought in from some of these unprestigious nations because our schools are failing to teach math and science.
