I get down to the Bay Area quite a bit cuz my Mom lives on the mid- Peninsula. The dot commers were nuts. They would spend millions to get a place and then tear it down so they could build their own. I fear that is what is going to happen to Mom's place, cuz, gasp and my gracious, it is only 3500 square feet and isn't wired for the electronic age. The thought kills me; I keep hoping that at least the living room will be spared; beautiful room. I read about one couple who liked the house they bought; they just didn't like the view, so they paid like a quarter mil to have it picked up and turned around.
