One of the more interesting posts I've read on FADG. I can well understand how they might have been upset at the Weathermen and the loss of SDS. But for that to take them all the way over to vote for Reagan genuinely defies reasoning. There's got to be some lost connections in there, somewhere.

The story, as told, might lead folk to go back into electoral politics to pursue their goals, assuming they still shared the earlier goals of the SDS. But to move all the way over to the factions which were utterly opposed to their earlier convictions, doesn't work for me. At least as told.

Do you know anymore?

Thanks for a wonderful overview and background....Those years were quite busy with babies for me, and just trying to keep up with current events was enough....People like the Weathermen and Black Panthers were WAY beyond anything I could look toward as speaking for me, or anyone I knew for that matter.

I didn't know what SDS was (Students for Democratic Societies)....First looked up SDS....mostly dribble....

so just looked up Weathermen Underground SDS in google....
NOW that brings back some memories of those times!!

And just think.....now we have the "New Black Panthers"....
sigh...........
