Just saw Artificial Intelligence on HBO.

I remember being less than impressed by the reviews when it came out, and I generally hate any movie with a cute kid, but...

I have to say, it was very good. I think you have to really be a fan of the science fiction short story genre to appreciate it. I am and I did.

I also learned a few weeks ago that the movie was optioned by Stanley Kubrick for years, until he personally convinced Spielberg to do it, citing a lack of time. The blocking clearly had a Kubrick feel to it, and I have to wonder if he would have made it even better.
