If you assume that some of the entities in the PPT are profit motivated, it makes a lot of sense that they would come to a point where they have to distribute inventory and then would want the market to go down.

I guess they have to keep everyone guessing, if they came out every time the market took a dive then the bears would be certain they existed and they wouldn't be able to trap them anymore, since their sole reason for existing is to make life difficult for the bears. -g-

Or maybe they are running out of ammunition...

Or maybe they threw everything they had at the market but it went south anyway...

Or maybe the market still needed some more consolidation considering the rally we had in the last six weeks.

Notice how quickly the new found bulls turned bearish again? What happened to all those regrets about not having bought the lows in October? If we climb from here, we'll also hear more pissing and moaning from the bears about some entity manipulating the market higher since everyone knows that this market has no rational reason to go up.

Yawn.

so where's the "PPT" today?

You talk as if the PPT is from outer space or something. It's really not that big of a thing. Governments intervene in their markets (e.g., Japan) and the USA is no exception. They have already implied they will do anything to prevent a recession. Buying futures is not really as "alien" as you make it sound. Maybe the term "PPT" scares you and Grace a bit?

best...
