To many, Snow's credentials don't seem particularly different from O'Neill's. The head of an oldline company -- this time a railroad rather than Alcoa -- Snow wasn't seen as even a long shot for the Treasury job.

The improving fundamentals might have been priced in by
the rally off the lows. The market now needs to see whether
this improvement sticks and morps into growth or will it be
more of one quarter growth followed by a dip into recession. The overcapactity, the debt are going to be a major drag on the economy for some time to come.
