Oh, I'm quite aware of the Senate breakdown. My point is that the Reps wished to tally the Nov elections as some sort of sweeping affirmation of the Bushies. Not so. We are still a country evenly divided between the parties.

As for whether Landrieu is a dem or not, it's the classic party affiliation problem. Is Lincoln Chafee a Rep? Well each vote to organize the senate for their respective parties, so that's the most important point. Each party has a few likely to vote, depending on the issue, with the other party. Going to be interesting to see which bills/amendments require 60 votes and who votes for what.
