Recent trade journal says we need to spend whatever it takes to take fiber from the curb to the house ... otherwise all these wonderful new services will never sell. Made me ashamed to be an engineer ...

We are currently anticipating environmental costs that will add 50% to our rate base (I work for a small generation co) +30% to our rates and not increase energy production one iota ... now multiply that by all the utilities that generate with coal.

Add in another 150 - 250 M of administrative costs per each one of these pools that the new FERC regulations anticipate -- still more added costs without any increase in production ...all this carp is hitting at exactly the wrong time.
