why does everyone say O'Neil's downfall was that he didn't keep his mouth shut, spoke his mind, and didn't stay on message?

i never really paid attention so would like to hear some examples of what he did "wrong." far be it that a politician be candid!

Don't think it matters who they put in there. If this is
a secular bear market there is nothing Treasury sec or the
fed or the congress can do. Ask Greenspan , last I checked
he was working overtime cranking out those printing presses.
