I don't think its a matter of trust wrt the negative reaction to Snow. And you're right, maybe Gramm wouldn't have made the cut. But a US railroad company that hauls coal just doesn't inspire. The talking heads shows were holding back their laughter last night... if Friedman doesn't make it in then "Bush can't bring in another old-economy industrial leader can he??!"- lots were surprised by this choice. from the same article- It looks like that initial response on Friday was misplaced," said Doug Kass, head of the hedge fund Seabreeze Partners.
