Thread,
Too much how many angels can we fit on the tip of a pin going on here on this thread. The history that is recounted does little to reach intelligent policy. Blame the Bushes. England should attack US for IRA. Every european objector is euro trash. All this being written by posters here.
We need to figure out where we are.

It is very simple for me. 9/11 changed the face of things, not only for the US but for the rest of the civilized world. Nations and movements must choose sides. Strongest player is the US and regardless of past sins, we are on the correct side this time. We can continue to review the past and try to figure out motives--eg bush and oil. I choose not to. For me it is simple and those who see complexity here and want endless debate(s) invite victory for the other side. Lets hold our noses and finish the job--many ways to do this-- and then we can go back to try to figure out how to fix things long term. How best to do the job is really the only question and on this i defer to folks who know more than I and I pray as well even though i am an agnostic. Mike
