Who enriched the Workers under the Capitalism we have enjoyed? It is a real "Chicken and Egg" question. I tend to go with the "The Workers would have got it anyway" answer. They just would not have got it quite as fast. You can't push up wages and working conditions unless the money is there to pay for it. The Owners want "Infinite Work for Zero Pay," The Workers want the opposite.

Another nice post, Frank. We could descend further into 19th century British history in search of Marx's views of the Chartists, whether it was possible for him to see his way to the 1930s in the US, etc., but it appears to me we've had our say, clarified one another's thoughts some, and are ready to move on.

How about you? If you have some point you wish to pursue, I will go along with you. Otherwise, . . .
