failure? Rightly or wrongly O'Neil was canned because he didn't promote the administrations's line on econ stimulus. Pretty wierd to take a position as Treas Sec and think you can go around making statements 180 degrees disagreeing with the President.

But O'Neil's lack of poiitcal savvy on capitol hill should have been foreseen by Bush and his transition team.
