ps: end of 1996 earnings .45 and price of 26--p/e 57. Bradley, You have gained my interest, but seeing how (according to Yahoo), MSFT never closed at 26 in 1996 on either a real dollar basis or a split adjusted basis, I was thwarted in my efforts to check your PE assertion. Can you please tell me exactly which date you are referring to in 1996 that MSFT had a closing price of 26? IF we can agree on a closing price for a specific date, I can backcheck quarterly earnings to do the rest.
