The discharge function on the NiMH batteries is not as relevant, as the shorter the depth of discharge the better it is for the NiMH battery. Going back many years there was an article that appeared in Scientific American April 1993 that showed 10,000 and more charging cycles at a 20% discharge. At an 80% discharge then recharge one could expect 500 discharge cycles with NiMH technology. The full discharge is relevant with the NiCad batteries if you have some of these around.
