Lizzie,
Broadband is interactive, 2-way. This means the service companies have to add to their infrastructure to support the return channel (upstream). Cable TV, Satellite TV, is just downstream. When you add interactive capability, you are adding costs to implement and support it.

This is why it's priced more.

Why does it feel like there is less value? You may say because you spend more time watching TV than your PC. Even if that was true, both services are always on, could be on 24 hours a day.
