i'm also waiting for UAL to run more, and shake out the long-term shorts who are in from much higher levels

Don't hold your breath. Oh sure, the dufuses, or is it dufaii, that are buying the UAL's and WCOEQ's of the world may get it a little higher, but it's such a total POS it won't go far. Especially when the employee shares have been filed to sell, even though the company is trying to block that. Thing is, if you're short this with a borrow, then you have to put up $2.50 to hold it, so unless it goes to $2.50 your margin requirements aren't going to change. And if you are short this from higher, are you really going to cover now, when you could wait 3 weeks to cover next year and put off the taxes even further, or just not even cover and delay the taxes for who knows how long?
This thing hasn't been borrowable for the little guy for month so it's the pro's that have 20mm+ of this shorted. They're not going to squeeze out now that it's dead. Sure some little naked shorts will squeeze, but just as many will be adding to positions or starting it short.
