I see, but Intelligent microprocessor controlled function is still very important. Otherwise, depending on the timing (auto-shut-off) of the charger, batteries with different capacities may end up over/under charged, which does matter even if for NiMH batteries.

Same applies to wet cell batteries eh?
They last a heck of a long time if not allowed to discharge more than 75%-50%.
