Had we had more troops in place, its more likely escape routes would have been better guarded and OBL et al would have been caught.

Its possible but most likely he would have just started his escape earlier. We probably would not have gotten OBL but we might have captured or killed more of the low level Taliban and Al Qaida members.

You don't know that at all. We should have been doing all we could to get him rather than testing out a pet new theory of Rumsfield's. We lost a golden opportunity and now OBL could be in a hundred different places......we don't have a clue as to his whereabouts. Worse........for months now we have been led to believe by Rumsfield and his crew that bin Laden was seriously ill. Now that appears to be a pipe dream.

Something is very wrong when one of the wealthiest nations in the world can't get one fact straight, and the best they can do is take out second rate religious leaders like the Taliban, or a two bit dictator like Saddam. Instead, we sit hear like stooges buying into every piece of nonsense coming out of Rumsfield's "glib and witty" mouth.
